2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness Embraces Roots

Subaru is embracing its off-road adventure roots with the release of the 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness trim package. The Wilderness model will focus on amplifying the aspects of the Outback that Subaru-lovers admire most. It all starts with boosting the suspension nearly an inch (0.8 inches) to gain confidence tackling rough terrain and making quick work of impending obstacles. With a taller stance, approach and departure angles are increased to avoid unwanted body damage.

Attractive Exterior
The exterior has received a few custom tweaks for the newly introduced Outback. With wheels generally creating a large percentage of the look of the vehicle, 6-spoke all-black rims wrapped in a 225/65R-17 Yokohama Geolandar A/T. If you are familiar with the various types of tires, you’ll know that A/T represents All-Terrain. Rightfully so the Outback Wilderness will be at home on nearly any trail. The aggressive tires help bring together other unique features like the matte-black hood decal, attractive fog lights, copper-colored accent pieces, and a front skid plate for added protection.

Life Happens Interior
Die-hard nature lovers will appreciate that the interior will be outfitted with Subaru StarTex that will repel water for those aquatic escapades. Once the second row is folded down you will find that it is also waterproof, so there will be no worries loading and unloading your equipment. There is also a full-size spare in the rear? A number of automakers are doing away with factory spare tires, never mind a full-size to keep you going strong. Camping trips, weekend getaways, and off-road fun can yield a lot of supplies, so a roof rack with a rating of 700 pounds should help with added belongings.
Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Jeep has unveiled its newest creation recently and it has left vehicle-lovers in absolute awe. The Grand Wagoneer is the newest addition to the Jeep lineup and will be available for purchase this summer. Long-time Jeep lovers will remember the rough and tough Wagoneer SJ. You know, the classic beach cruising vehicle with the unforgettable wood paneling from the 1960s. It has been reincarnated into an elegant, classy SUV with attractive charm. It is something we have never seen from Jeep and the teasers have been nothing short of magnificent.

Nostalgic Influences
The legendary automaker has taken its predecessor and created a machine to rival even the most popular luxury brands. Its size and presence will attract any wandering eye within seconds like a moth to a flame. The exterior styling alone is enough to question how Jeep designers pulled off such an extensive feat. The smooth-flowing body lines were inspired by none other than the majestic American landscape of the west. What is a modern vehicle without LED lighting? The Wagoneer lights up the way through every twist and turn with headlights that adapt to the surroundings. The available 22-inch machined aluminum wheels tie the complete package together with a refined design.

Road Trip Ready
Take everyone with you with eight-passenger seating and available Quilted Palermo Leather-Trimmed Seating with 24-way adjustable power. When the road trips are a little longer, utilize the massage capability to take the edge off, and discover true relaxation. While relaxing, crank up the tunes with the available Industry-Exclusive McIntosh Entertainment System to bring the drive to life. It will be difficult for the rear passengers to ever be bored with two 10.1-inch screens that have the potential to stream your favorite shows from Amazon Fire TV.

Stunning Looks and Capability
Don’t let the stunning good looks fool you. The Grand Wagoneer is quite a capable SUV with a towing capacity of 9,850 pounds. Back into any spot using the ParkView Rear Backup Camera with confidence. Hop into the cabin with ease on the power deployable running boards and head to your favorite outdoor attractions. The Advanced All-Terrain Group teams up with the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System to set the appropriate traction options for the terrain ahead. This includes rock, sand/mud, snow, sport, and even auto mode. Quadra-Lift Air Suspension will cushion the ride for a cloud-like experience driving down the road. Tackle impossible terrain with a two-speed transfer case and a front axle skid plate for added protection.
The All-New Kia Carnival

Kia’s minivan has experienced a number of dramatic changes. At first glance, one might not even recognize it after a facelift and name change. Kia’s Sedona has been completely transformed into what is no longer a minivan but a multi-purpose vehicle. The overall redesign will hint that more than just a few changes have arrived. The new aura projects familiar SUV vibes. Kia designers have done well with masking the classic minivan-appearance by creating smooth lines and a bold SUV-like front end.

Room for the Whole Family
Moving to the interior of the all-new Carnival it retains most of the commonly known minivan features which is the main reason why we love them so much because of their usability. There is seating available for 7 or 8 depending on your desired configuration. Either configuration is customizable to get the most out of your ride. Your mind will be at ease headed down the road knowing that intelligent airbags are there for you, child safety was a key factor during development, and a newly introduced durable, stable frame will provide a safe and smooth ride.

Impressive Interior Tech
The upgraded interior technology is really where the Carnival shines the brightest. Enjoy connectivity with your favorite smart devices via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Keep them charged and your passengers happy with 9 USB chargers in addition to two 100-volt power outlets. The driver and front passenger will have access to a wireless charger upfront for convenience. Passengers will experience royal treatment with features like best-in-class passenger space with three available seating arrangements, 2 rows of heated/ventilated seats, 12.3-inch front screens with navigation, a dual rear 12-inch LCD entertainment system with screen mirroring, a newly introduced two-way intercom system to facilitate ease of communication, and tied together with an impressive 11-speaker Premium Bose sound system.

Exceptional Value
The Kia Carnival has been finely tuned to cater to the needs of families who make it their vehicle of choice. It has been tested in some of the harshest conditions and temperatures Mother Nature has to throw at it. The 290 best-in-class horsepower provides an impressive 3,500 lbs of towing capacity to bring your favorites toys with you on those weekend getaways. As if the Carnival couldn’t get any more enticing it comes with the industry’s best warranty providing powertrain protection for 10 years/100,000 miles. Ford Ranger Tremor
FORD RANGER TREMOR
THE FULL PACKAGE

Ford has added a new trim level to its mid-size pickup for all off-road lovers. The Ford Ranger Tremor will boast a number of goodies that will enhance its trail-riding capabilities. The Tremor package will fall below the Raptor combining the best of all applications yet maintaining daily drivability for the average commuter. Although the first time you will find the Ranger with such goodies it is available on Super Duty models as well as the best-selling truck in America, the F-150.
WHAT’S NEW?

Offered in the crew cab configuration, the Tremor package is upgraded with all-terrain tires, great for tackling any road conditions, skid plates to protect the undercarriage for peace of mind, an upgraded suspension for additional clearance and comfort, and a locking rear differential controlled electronically from the cockpit. The package will also include metal side steps for ease of entry and exit into the cabin, an auxiliary switch panel with six switches, and Tremor graphics to tie it all together.
PERFORMANCE NUMBERS

When popping the hood, you will see it retains the same engine as other trim levels, sporting a 2.3L four-cylinder engine producing 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The 0-60 mph time is unexpectedly healthy with a time of 6.5 seconds. The Tremor’s 7,500-pound towing capacity will remain the same, but the payload is affected by just 130 pounds down to 1,430. Combined mpg will fall in at an estimated 19 mpg which is quite acceptable with larger, upgraded tires.
Quirk loves to support our communities!
Manchester, NH–Over the past year, communities hit hard with financial hardship are relying more and more on charitable organizations like Catholic Charities New Hampshire for emergency assistance and support.
Due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Catholic Charities New Hampshire have announced they will be hosting their annual Mardi Gras Gala virtually this year and will be streaming the event live at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb.16 on their website (www.cc-nh.org).
The organization typically hosts their annual Mardi Gras Gala in-person, which is held the last Saturday before Lent, but COVID-19 has prevented that from happening this time around. Catholic Charities New Hampshire hopes to return to an in-person event next year, contingent on the state of the pandemic.
Despite this change, the organization says they’re excited to make the most of the virtual event, and have a great afternoon planned with a lineup of guest speakers, opportunities to bid on getaways, golf experiences, and chances to win some great prizes, like a Commander’s Palace meal for two and more.
“We are grateful for the generous organizations like Quirk Auto Dealers and our many other incredible sponsors for making our Virtual Mardi Gras possible,” said Thomas Blonski, president & CEO of Catholic Charities NH. “This year’s virtual event will be held on Fat Tuesday at 4 p.m., in a unique and creative way. Funds raised go directly to programs and services that provide pathways forward for our New Hampshire neighbors in need, such as homeless veterans, seniors battling hunger and isolation, and people struggling with mental health, grief and depression. We cannot thank our sponsors and event attendees enough and hope everyone enjoys a fun evening together in the comfort of their own homes or offices.”
Sign up to attend the Catholic Charities New Hampshire Virtual Mardi Gras event online at: https://www.cc-nh.org/misc/mardi-gras/. There is no cost to attend, but generous gifts of any amount are welcomed.

Ford Introduces Maverick
- Ford brings back Maverick as unibody pickup
- May share powertrain/interior with Bronco/Escape
- Will fall below Ranger in pickup truck lineup

Do you recall Ford’s compact car, the Maverick, produced in the early 1970’s? You know the one produced to compete with the gas-saving imports of its day? Yes, that’s the one! Ford is bringing it back reincarnated as a compact unibody pickup truck. It will fall just below the Ranger in terms of size within the lineup. It is rumored that it may share a lot of its platform with the Bronco and Escape due to their similar size.
With a smaller size, comes a smaller price tag. We can expect it to land somewhere around $26,000 for a starting MSRP. Unfortunately, there is no concrete word on powertrain configurations, but since it will be a similar size to the Bronco and Escape, we can almost be sure that we may see a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder and/or a turbocharged 2.0-liter. We also cannot be sure if it will share it’s styling with the Bronco or take on its own persona, but we are excited about the official unveiling.
We may be lucky enough to see it later this year in 2021 and with great anticipation. Since the Ford Maverick will be built on such a small-scale it will be perfect for simple daily tasks. After research concluding that it will be offered in a full four-door cab, it will work well for a daily driver and taking the kids to school. The bed will offer convenience for camping on the weekends, dump runs, gardening, and other homeowner-type tasks. The Ford Maverick may be the ideal pickup truck for the average homeowner looking for an eye-catching pickup truck that will save on gas but remain functional for daily use.

Clean Those Bugs

Spring is here and summer is right on its tail. Bugs are out in full force, and they are going to take over your vehicle whether you like it or not. Bug splatter is not something to ignore as it could cause a great deal of harm to your expensive paint. Inspect your paint weekly for bugs and other paint imperfections. Constantly examining your vehicle, in general, can save you tons of money in repair costs if problems are caught early. Once you notice a build-up of bugs/insects take action to get rid of them before it is too late and time to head to the paint shop.

Keep Your Vehicle Waxed
One of the smartest things you can do to your vehicle is to keep it as clean as possible. Preventative maintenance will keep everything running smoothly for years to come. The first step is to apply a generous coat of wax to your paint or utilize a ceramic coating. This will allow for easier removal of bug splatter and road debris. A coat of wax will create a barrier between contaminants and your paint. There are many products on the market, so all you have to do is choose the one that appeals to you.

A Little Extra Elbow Grease
Removing bugs from your paint isn’t too tough of a task if you make sure to keep up with washing your vehicle weekly. There are a few different methods that prove effective, but it is up to you which one you prefer. A paint-safe bug & tar remover is a strong but gentle cleaning agent that can take out some of the elbow grease. Using soft water with a traditional car wash to compliment the bug & tar remover should do the trick.

Cleaning Hacks
There are also “hacks” that you can try at your own discretion. One hack is to use dryer sheets in addition to water to scrub the bug-covered areas. Make sure to clean the area with your bucket of car wash thoroughly so that the chemicals in the dryer sheets do not dry and tarnish the paint. A classic versatile tool is the legendary WD-40. Have no fear it will not damage the clear coat. Lastly, if these methods are not getting the result you want, try using a bug sponge. It is a normal synthetic sponge that is encased with a nylon cover for extra scrubbing power.
